We started the idea with a realisation that all the objects we have signifies comfort and home for us. It led to a discuss of what makes us feel comfortable and happy. For all of us shopping and music made us feel at peace and safe.
This led to the idea of how hands and sounds have an impact on us and how different textures make us feel differently. Thats why we chose ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) with hands and feeling of touch.
We started with making a routine/list of things we generally do while entering a store and the sounds it creates.
- Outside sounds / outside shop
- Put on headphones / hair moving sound / store music
- Silence
- Classical music begins / walk into shop
- Go through racks/ metal sounds
- Feeling fur
- Opening zipper /bag
- Sit down and try on boots
- Feeling jewlery / windchime noise
- Going downstairs
- Changing room curtain , drop pile of clothes
- Trying to fit on jeans / fast cuts zipper noises and wrestling
- Buttoning shirt / jacket
- Walk to counter with pile
- Taking off tag / swiping credit card
- Putting clothes in bag
- Take off headphones (cue end of song) , outside noise comes out / fades to black
Then we started looking into the equipments we needed for it.
Finally we decided on the location for shoot. We decided to shoot in Serotonin Vintage in Brick Lane, Shoreditch, London and talked to the manager at the store.
Then came the day we shoot and start post producing using Adobe Premiere Pro CC and After Affects.
We shot the video on 11th October, 2019 and starting post producing and playing with sounds and creating them on the same day.
