Joy’s story was of her cultural difference and her time away from home. She’s from South Korea and to her the concept of keys is a parallel universe. In South Korea, people use a track pad or key pad to enter their house. They punch in the numbers and enter the house instead of keys that the other side of the world uses. To her the key signified how her life in a short gesture has changed and how different it is. It also made her think about how many people must have owned that particular set of keys and stories they must have had with it.
Sophie’s story was of her grand mother’s ring. Her grand mother has always been in the Hollywood and has heavily influenced Sophie and her fashion. The ring is engraved with her grand mother’s name and has a very special place in her heart.
