Tim Walker Exhibition

“Fantasy isn’t something I put into the pictures; I don’t try and inject them with a sense of play. But it’s about being an honest photographer; a photograph is as much of a mirror of the photographer as it is the subject.”

Tim Walker

So, I visited the Tim Walker exhibition in Victoria and Albert Museum.

Tim Walker Wonderful Things

Frankly the work made me realise how insane (in a good and crazy both ways) a person has to be to produce art like this! But also made me realise how aware they need to be with themselves and their abilities!

Tim Walker gets his inspirations from his life and things around him. He gives it a theatrical and surrealist visage. He uses his life and his experiences and takes it to a new level by adding his imagination and resourcefulness and presents it for the world to critique. His work is not for n everyday man, his work work might only entertain 10 percent of the population but for him that 10 percent is a 100 and he doesnt work to please anyone. Frankly, even if I’m an open minded viewer and think the work is beyond compare, I, myself might be a part of that 90 percent. The only thing that inspires me is the dedication to not give a sh*t and present it like no body’s watching.

I have been looking into fashion psychology and this picture made me want to analyse Tim Walker. How clothes a person might be wearing are simple and how their choices might be simple for wearing clothes but no one can tell what explosion their mind might be having. Another example is Steve Jobs!

I have always been into psychology, I kind of want to analyse these images and see the psychology of hand writing too! Hope I do it in the future and keep you updated!

Putting these lights arrangement by the entry was a genius idea and only could be expected from Tim Walker’s exhibition!

PS : an off topic request, if you know how to invert/flip the images that I’m trying to upload then pleaseee let me know. Thanks xx
